Does anyone have room in their homes, hearts and pocketbooks to take care of a sweet little (and I mean, little) bunny? I have a 4-year-old Netherlands Dwarf Rabbit named Blackavar ("Blackie"), whom I will not be able to take with me. *sniff* Though not the cuddly type, he is sweet, playful and lovely to look at: glossy, short black fur with shiny chocolate brown eyes and the cutest little ears! He's in good health, although he's getting on in years; his breed doesn't live much past 4 or 5 years. I'd very much like for him to be well taken care of during his declining years as, sadly, I am unable to do it myself at this time.
If you are seriously interested, please please please contact me ASAP, anytime, on my cell -- 917-841-0677 -- by this Monday, 7/5/10 as I'll have to move out of the house by then. My only alternative at this point is Rabbit Rescue, but that's a haul as I live so far away from them and I don't drive, so I'd prefer to give him to someone local, or who can pick him up.
I can give you 50 lbs of clean bedding, a large cage, some toys, chewsticks and salt licks, plus a water bottle and a bowl for food. I will also provide intructions for his care and feeding if you are unfamiliar with rabbits. He's fairly easy to take care of, as long as he gets fresh water and greens every day. You can also leave him alone overnight if you have to; he'll be fine.
If you aren't able to help, perhaps you know someone else who can? Any help would be appreciated at this point. I'd been looking around, but so far no-one was able or interested.
Thanks all. Blessed be!
